There are private foundations which provide funding, and there are public grants awarded by different levels of government. In Canada, this can be municipal, provincial or federal. Before you begin looking for grants, it is useful to figure out how you will make use of potential funding. This could be support for an artistic project, general operating costs for a non-profit, or maybe a new program for your organization.
